A research partner rooted in place, context, and clarity
kira.id is a health data platform and research partner based in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. We exist because health data and research potential in this region are not always easy to access, map, or connect to the people and institutions that need them most.
We work at the intersection of data, field context, and research need — supporting researchers, academics, institutions, and health professionals with information that is both relevant and grounded in local reality.
"Good data is not only available. It is also understood in context."
East Nusa Tenggara
One of Indonesia's eastern provinces. Home to a rich diversity of communities, languages, and cultures — and to specific health research challenges and opportunities that require grounded, local knowledge.
Our Values
Our Story
The journey and milestones that built kira.id.
The Observation
Working across various health projects in eastern Indonesia, we observed a recurring gap: national-level data often failed to capture the nuances of provincial realities, while excellent local research too frequently remained trapped in academic silos without reaching the communities or policymakers who needed it most.
Connecting Data and Context
We began building an independent platform focused exclusively on bridging health data with local research context in East Nusa Tenggara. Our initial focus was maternal and child health, establishing direct lines of collaboration with local health workers and provincial research bodies.
Establishing kira.id
kira.id was formally established as a dedicated research partner and data platform. We structured our operations into KIRA DATA (for accessible statistical insights) and KIRA ADVISORY (for contextual research collaboration), anchoring our commitment to equal partnership and public usefulness.
Expanding Impact
As our network of academic and institutional partners grew, we focused heavily on translation—turning complex datasets into engaging visual formats and narratives that support stronger, evidence-based health policies across the diverse island geography of NTT.
